Comment:
Dipylidium caninum -- This is an acid phosphatase stain of a flea haemocyte found adhering to D.caninum oncospheres in the haemocoele of a flea. These haemocytes were also found to be peroxidase positive, which along with encapsulation seems to be the method by which fleas (of all stages of development) reacted to, and in some cases, particularly at low temperatures and in some species (ie C.canis but not C.felis felis), killed the parasites.
